We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate Counsel to join our Legal and Ethics & Compliance group in North America. Key Responsibilities- Drafting and Negotiating Complex Agreements
You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating complex business transactions, including incentive, brand, and strategic alliance agreements with traditional payment system participants, such as issuers, merchants, processors, and new payment system participants, such as fintechs, neobanks, and crypto wallets.
Extensive Business DealingsYou will have extensive business dealings with Visa's external client base, including financial institutions, processors, merchants, and fintechs.
Template Agreement ManagementYou will be responsible for drafting, updating, and managing template agreements to allow for more efficient contract administration processes.
Legal Support to Account ExecutivesYou will provide legal support to Visa's account executives responsible for managing global client relationships.
Collaboration with Internal TeamsYou will work closely with internal subject matter experts and regional attorneys to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
Requirements- 5+ Years of Relevant Experience
You must have at least 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD.
Advanced Degree or PhDA member in good standing in, and eligible to practice law in, at least one jurisdiction in the United States.
Strong Analytical and Communication SkillsYou must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex legal concepts into business-oriented advice.
Business AcumenYou must have developed business acumen, with the ability to understand the company's business interests and anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in a fast-paced environment.
Industry KnowledgeBackground and knowledge of some or all of the following is preferred: the payment services industry and related credit and debit processing industries, the legal and regulatory landscape governing, in particular, credit and debit cards, intellectual property law, and antitrust and competition law.
