Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering and planning tasks.
- Conduct fieldwork, including site assessments prior to design and support during construction phases.
- Develop conceptual designs that are accurate, feasible, and visually appealing.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for transportation projects, including complete streets, bikeways, traffic signals, signage/striping, and lighting.
- Facilitate direct client interactions and engage with the community through outreach efforts.
- Promote and secure new projects by fostering client relationships and preparing proposals and presentations.
- Mentor and train junior staff while receiving guidance from senior team members.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Current or future plans to obtain a professional engineer's (PE) license.
- Proficient in applying Caltrans, MUTCD, and AASHTO design standards across various projects.
- Familiarity with the preparation and review of traffic signal, signing, and striping plans.
- Knowledge of safety countermeasure selection and design.
- Understanding of mobility challenges and their impact on transportation engineering.
- Experience in leading proposals and cultivating client relationships.
- Interest in mentoring and training team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification.
- Enthusiasm for engaging with diverse communities.
- Experience in quick-build project design and implementation.
- Background in active transportation planning and design.
- Expertise in road safety planning and design.
