Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Overview:
The Field Survey Project Manager oversees the preliminary survey activities for the Bureau of Right of Way across the State of Kansas. This role includes supervising internal resources and coordinating with external consultant survey resources.
The Project Manager is tasked with locating, establishing, and/or relocating section corners, property boundaries, and KDOT right of way. Responsibilities also include reviewing deeds and plans related to project sites, alignment recovery, vertical control recovery, and benchmark establishment. This position requires obtaining elevations and topographic data, conducting on-site inspections of survey operations, and training District personnel in surveying techniques and basic mathematics.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Land Surveying License recognized by the Kansas Board of Technical Professions is required.
- A valid Driver's license at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Five years of experience in highway route surveying.
Post-Offer/Pre-employment Requirements:
- This position is subject to pre-employment physical testing. The selected candidate will be required to pass the screening as a condition of employment.
- Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate required in accordance with Executive Order. Each applicant selected for a State of Kansas job vacancy must apply for a Tax Clearance Certificate within 10 days from the date of the offer letter.
