Job Title: Survey Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Technician to join our team at Veenstra and Kimm, Inc. in Kansas City. As a Survey Technician, you will be responsible for performing boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field surveys using various equipment such as levels, total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
  • Prepare field notes, sketches, and calculations to complete field work.
  • Operate basic functions and software of a computer, including Word, Adobe, Note Pad, and company administrative software.
  • Prepare detailed daily job reports and discuss projects with supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate degree preferred but not required.
  • Land Surveyor in Training preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of survey calculations, techniques, and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 3-5 years of experience in land surveying.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to perform moderate physical work and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. The ability to use a shovel, axe, hammer, pick, machete, and other hand tools used to complete survey projects. The field crew will work year-round outside in all kinds of weather.
