Key Role

This Records Retention Clerk role is part of the City of New York's Customer Operations Department, contributing to the daily success of the Adjudication Division and its ALJs who handle parking summons.

Main Tasks:
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping and ensure compliance with the Agency's retention policy.
  • Organize and prepare documents for storage at the warehouse, following established procedures.
  • Verify appeal claims, provide support for hearing determinations, and facilitate public inquiries regarding payments.
  • Prepare and process files for the appeals panel to review.
  • Support staff by handling incoming mail and ensuring its proper distribution.
Necessary Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should have a four-year high school diploma or equivalent, combined with one year of clerical experience. Strong keyboard skills with a typing speed of 100 key strokes per minute (20 words) are also crucial.
