Job Description

Syms Strategic Group, LLC (SSG) is seeking a skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have experience in testing with MUMPS, VistA, and other VA systems, as well as knowledge of Automated and Manual testing policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate test events with appropriate resources.
  • Develop and execute test plans and test scripts in accordance with VA-mandated testing documentation standards and templates.
  • Lead and conduct testing in accordance with Master Test Plan specifications that provide tracking, monitoring, and reporting of results.
  • Review and approve test reports.
  • Monitor and update defect and bug reports.
  • Create test reports.

Requirements:

  • Must have outstanding communications, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Automated and Manual testing policies and procedures.
  • Experience testing with MUMPS, VistA, and other VA systems.
  • Experience with Electronic Data Interchanges (EDIs) and financial transaction systems.
  • An ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to overall company success.
  • Experience in the coordination and management of test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scripts.
  • Must possess knowledge and skills to ensure that test environments are set up accurately.
  • Must be able to create test reports.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks, and specialized environments.
  • Experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures.
  • Must be able to manage the defect database under the guidance of senior Quality Assurance (QA) engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with remote U.S. based teams (Not Offshore teams).
  • 5+ years Software Development and testing experience.
  • 5+ years NodeJS experience.
  • 5+ years Java experience.
  • 5+ years C# experience.

Security Clearance Requirements:

Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
