Job Overview

The Skyworks Irvine design center is in search of a Contingent/Temporary Engineering Technician to become part of our RF Design Laboratory.

The technician will report directly to a laboratory manager and will engage in daily tasks that support two RF design labs. Responsibilities will include data logging, mechanical assembly, and RF testing. You will be tasked with setting up and executing test bench verification assessments at specified intervals, as well as aiding in the development of technical procedures for these verification tests. A successful candidate will manage the logistics and scheduling of equipment calibration and maintain equipment records in tracking software, utilizing manufacturing, testing, and diagnostic tools, including but not limited to VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.

Key Responsibilities

Daily/IATF Compliance –

  • Conduct bench verification assessments at designated intervals to adhere to new IATF standards. Document results on the server and in GagePack.
  • Assist in formulating procedures for bench verification assessments and ensure their maintenance.
  • Provide support for various maintenance tasks across three DRx laboratories.
  • Execute and maintain ESD testing and logs, with daily monitoring of humidity levels.
  • Aid in the implementation of new equipment tracking methodologies in GagePack and maintain equipment locations within the system.
  • Manage the logistics of equipment for calibration and repair.

As Required/Periodic/IATF Compliance –

  • Establish new testing stations as necessary and perform calibration.
  • Assist engineers with data collection when feasible.
  • Support probe station tasks, including capturing EVB de-embed files.
  • Contribute to lab rework tasks, such as parts installation, soldering, and harness assembly.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree is required, along with 4 years of relevant experience.
