Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Acoustic Design Engineer to join our team at Insight Global. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development of acoustic wave filters that are integral to RF modules, ensuring adherence to stringent timelines, superior performance, and essential size and cost constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and design acoustic wave filters tailored for RF module integration, while ensuring compliance with tight schedules and performance benchmarks.
- Implement best engineering practices to guarantee reliability, sustainability, and high production yield.
- Innovate new architectures and concepts to enhance filter and module performance, maintaining a competitive advantage for our products.
- Conduct thorough design evaluations and present quantitative analyses to validate adherence to internal or client specifications, utilizing both simulation and empirical data.
- Collaborate closely with module and systems teams to establish performance criteria for filters.
- Engage with technology and fabrication teams to drive continuous performance enhancements and influence business unit roadmaps.
- Advance design methodologies to boost accuracy, efficiency, and first-pass success rates.
- Lead collaborative design initiatives, working in conjunction with PA, LNA, switch, MCM, and other teams to optimize overall performance.
Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering with relevant internship experience; or MS with 8 years of industry experience; or BS with 12 years of experience.
- Extensive expertise in the design of acoustic filters and multiplexers, with a strong command of various filter design principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth, and stability.
- Proficient in PA/LNA filter co-design and RF integration.
- Strong circuit simulation capabilities using tools such as Agilent ADS/Cadence and 2.5/3D EM tools like Momentum or HFSS.
- Significant experience in electromagnetic (EM) simulation of filters or multi-chip modules (MCM).
- Hands-on experience in problem-solving and lab debugging from prototype development to mass production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record in RF filter/multiplexer development for cellular applications.
- Experience with BA SAW technology.
- In-depth knowledge of cellular RF systems.
- Demonstrated skills in project management and talent development.
Compensation
Salary range: $124,400 - $185,000 Annually
