Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the dairy plant, adhering to USDA standards and guidelines.
  • Inventory Management: Accurately account for all inventory used or lost during shifts, ensuring seamless production operations.
  • Product Preparation: Follow recipes and procedures accurately and consistently, ensuring the highest quality of our dairy products.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assemble, disassemble, clean, and sanitize processing equipment and ice cream machines, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Quality Control: Conduct laboratory testing and recording of milk received, ensuring compliance with state guidelines.
  • General Sanitation: Clean the entire dairy production room to company standards after every shift.

Requirements:

  • Must be self-motivated and committed to producing high-quality food products.
  • Must have a strong understanding of plumbing processes and mechanics.
  • Must be committed to food safety and sanitation.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for an entire 6-8 hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs to shoulder height repeatedly.
  • Prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
  • Prior experience with pumps, tanks, homogenizers is preferred.
  • Familiar with weights and measures for recipes.
  • Must be methodical, clean, and meticulous all at the same time.
  • 1 year or more experience in a food preparation position is required.
  • At least 18 years of age.

About Two Cows Creamery & Bistro:

We are a made-from-scratch, farm-to-table eatery located in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We have a well-knit local community of core customers and serve thousands of tourists from April through October. We purchase our meats, poultry, and veggies and greens from local farms and even own our own dairy cows for our ice cream. We have crazy busy summers, steady fall and spring seasons, and easy-going winter traffic. In our slower times, we host farm-to-fork fixed menu dinners with new creative menus. We are a staple in the community and require smiles on our staff at all times.
