Diesel Mechanic

As a Diesel Mechanic - Equipment Specialist at Dairy Farmers of America, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of trucks and trailers. This includes inspecting vehicles, diagnosing problems, and performing repairs to ensure they are in optimal operating condition. You will work under minimal supervision and may assist other mechanics or supervisors with complex repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers
- Inspect vehicles to identify potential problems
- Diagnose and repair issues with vehicles
- Work with other mechanics or supervisors to complete complex repairs
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with DOT regulations
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of experience in a mechanic or maintenance role
- Certification and/or License - Mechanic certification, CDL license, or other relevant certifications or licenses may be required
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to lift 75 lbs and pass a physical demands analysis. You must also be able to read and understand driver inspection reports, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and provide and use personal hand tools appropriate for working on heavy equipment. We offer a competitive pay rate of $25.00 per hour and a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401k employer match, and tuition reimbursement.
