IT Assistant Job Description

Fort Myers Broadcasting Company is seeking a highly skilled IT Assistant to join our team.

As an IT Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our technological systems. You will work closely with our IT administrator and other departments to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and contribute to the overall efficiency and security of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Help manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Perform routine system updates and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation of IT processes, procedures, and configurations.
  • Collaborate with the IT administrator to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Provide training and support to users on IT-related topics as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a similar IT support role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) a plus.
