Role Overview

Zen Educate is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational support team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a K-12 setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Behavioral Support: Implement behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) for students, monitor progress, and provide positive reinforcement to help them thrive.
  • Individualized Support: Offer personalized, one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs, adapting materials and strategies to fit their unique learning and behavioral goals.
  • Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, helping to manage behaviors, encourage participation, and make every student feel valued and supported.
  • Data Collection: Track student progress, behaviors, and interventions, providing detailed records to inform our special education team's support strategies.
  • Communication: Build strong relationships with teachers, parents, and school staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support our students.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations
  • English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in special education, particularly with moderate to severe behaviors
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies
  • CPR and First Aid certification
