At Staples, we're looking for a skilled Accounting Professional to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you'll play a critical role in driving results and providing financial expertise to support our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement accounting activities to support specific parts of the accounting unit, team, or projects.
  • Analyze accounts and oversee accounting processes in line with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Lead the month-end close process for the lease accounting area.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations for all lease liability and right-of-use asset accounts.
  • Review month-end reconciliations prepared by off-shore accounting team.
  • Act as subject matter expert in the lease accounting area.
  • Support the annual budget and monthly forecasts for all lease-related accounts.
  • Provide reporting and documentation to business partners and senior management.
  • Participate in SOX compliance.
  • Make recommendations for and execute process improvements.
  • Perform and oversee special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Work quarterly with the external auditors, preparing and reviewing schedules for their testing.
  • Partner with real estate lease administration, legal and multiple other business groups to ensure adequate lease accounting information is received on a timely basis.
  • Complete other general accounting close tasks, as required.
