Patient Service Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Specialist to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information, including name, address, and insurance details
- Perform insurance verification and obtain patient signatures for required documents
- Upload patient identification and insurance cards
- File and maintain medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Correct registration work queue errors and confirm appointments
- Provide excellent customer service, answering phone calls promptly and courteously
- Perform referral documentation and work in the claims edit work queue to correct registration errors
- Adhere to Optum's policies and procedures, maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Work collaboratively with healthcare providers and other team members to achieve team goals
- Stay up-to-date on current medical requirements and best practices

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 1+ year of customer service or healthcare experience preferred
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Epic EMR software a plus
