Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Human Resources Assistant to join our team at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As a key member of our HR team, you will provide support in the Recruitment and Placement program, performing a wide range of HR assignments that require research and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide developmental support in the Recruitment and Placement program.
  • Utilize automated HR systems to process personnel actions throughout the recruitment and placement process.
  • Establish and maintain employee electronic Official Personnel Folders (eOPF) for all new hires.
  • Manage the new hire onboarding process and off-boarding employees.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • May be required to complete a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirements for males.
  • Must provide a resume and supporting documents.
  • You cannot hold an active real estate license or have an interest in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
  • Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
  • If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
  • You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month.
  • May be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Qualifications

To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying.
