We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our Peoria Record-to-Report team. In this role, you will be pivotal in overseeing and enhancing various functions within our shared services group, offering essential support for legal entities, strategic insights, and informed decision-making regarding financial and transactional systems.

This position will primarily concentrate on the parent company and selected manufacturing sites within shared services, where you will become a subject matter expert in processes such as monthly closings, reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the closing processes for GBS facilities, including the analysis and presentation of actual results.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and provide support for facilities through precise and timely reconciliation processes.
  • Offer technical guidance and expertise to the team.
  • Lead diverse activities that necessitate interpretation and adherence to U.S. GAAP and Caterpillar's accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with Technical Accounting to address complex business issues, including financial reporting requirements.
  • Advocate for our shared services model and engage in the development and support of business strategies.
  • Stay informed about organizational policies and procedures, providing guidance to team members.
  • Work with the team to standardize reporting processes with an emphasis on lean transformation.
  • Foster talent and organizational development, enhancing team capabilities and indirectly managing team members within the shared services COE and third-party providers.
Qualifications:
  • Precision and Detail Orientation: Recognizing the importance of accuracy and completing tasks with high precision.
  • Knowledge of Finance and Accounting: Familiarity with finance and accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in techniques and tools that facilitate effective analysis and problem-solving.
  • Multi-Tasking Abilities: Effective self-management skills to handle multiple objectives and projects simultaneously.
  • Financial Analysis Expertise: Ability to interpret and draw conclusions from financial data.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Over 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
