Brightspeed is a leader in the telecommunications industry, dedicated to providing innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers. We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Technician to join our team in Charlotte, NC.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires varying shifts, including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays. The Customer Service Technician will be responsible for performing installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video and voice networks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service, technical skills, and ability to work independently. You must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb poles, and work at heights.

  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of high-speed internet, video and voice networks
  • Maintaining and repairing outside plant facilities
  • Climbing poles, using a shovel and pick to dig up and bury cable, working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults (CEV), and locating buried telephone cables
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A High School diploma (or equivalent) or higher
  • Ability to distinguish colors on facilities
  • Ability to handle 28 foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs. routine work) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs.)
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office applications
