Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations, and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.
  • Generate ideas and identify opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability by engaging with clients on their climate, transition strategies, and sustainable finance opportunities where applicable.
  • Develop and propose investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.

Vice President Expectations

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organization's functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
  • Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.

About the Role

This is a FINRA-regulated role.

As a VP Investment Banking, Fintech at Barclays, you will have the chance to play a key role in projects such as company valuation, strategic advisory, and execution of debt and equity offerings.

You will be able to create financial analysis/models, industry research, and coordination with internal teams related to a financing or sale, ensuring fast and unparalleled customer service to our clients.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Additional relevant skills in financial modeling, cash flow, credit financial analysis, and previous Investment Banking or Fintech Corporate Finance are highly valued.

Salary Information

Minimum: $250,000

Maximum: $275,000

The minimum and maximum salary information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This role is based in New York.
