Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Plant Operations Director, the Environmental Services Operations Manager will oversee the comprehensive management of the EVS division. Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision, training, and scheduling of personnel.
  • Formulate the strategic direction, vision, and objectives of the EVS division.
  • Establish and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
  • Oversee departmental budgets.
  • Manage departmental reporting.
  • Ensure departmental safety compliance.
  • Guarantee adherence to regulatory standards governing EVS operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must possess the ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in Environmental Services is preferred.
  • Ability to establish policies and procedures.
  • Capable of managing personnel and their schedules.
  • Understanding of and adherence to established cleaning protocols during daily operations.
  • As a hands-on manager, ability to perform routine cleaning tasks in assigned areas.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Ability to perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily logs, discharge cleaning, patient room sanitation, floor maintenance, key and beeper management, supply inventory, laundry and linen oversight, staff scheduling, and overall management of the EVS division.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and maintain accurate meeting records.
  • Assist in training and educational sessions for staff, maintaining training documentation.
  • Develop policies, staff responsibilities, work assignments, documentation, and schedules.
  • Perform quality assurance rounds to ensure the quality of departmental work.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests related to Environmental Services.
  • Ensure staff completes all assigned tasks and documentation accurately.
  • Maintain effective communication across all shifts.
  • Ensure all departmental equipment is well-maintained and report any repair needs.
  • Manage the ordering and control of supplies utilized in the department.
  • Oversee linen ordering processes.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary reports.
  • Act as a liaison between EVS, guests, visitors, and other departments, ensuring their needs are met while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Exhibit professionalism in all duties performed.
  • Work consistently and efficiently, maximizing productivity during assigned shifts.
  • Demonstrate initiative to enhance productivity.
  • If necessary, perform daily cleaning tasks according to established guidelines.
  • Exhibit thorough knowledge of infection control and sanitation practices, including the use of disinfectants and proper cleaning equipment operation. Train staff to ensure compliance with cleaning protocols.
  • Adhere to and enforce hospital hand hygiene and infection control regulations.
  • Meet all compliance requirements set by regulatory agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
