Laboratory Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and direct the work of the laboratory section to maximize employee, equipment, and material utilization within budgetary constraints.
- Oversee activities of the department, distribute/assign work, determine priorities, and schedule non-routine procedures.
- Perform supervisory functions for assigned staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling.
- Perform advanced/specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques, and duplicate work of others to confirm test results.
- Check and approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy, and initiate quality-control measures to monitor the quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards.
- Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition, and complete training and competency checklists as appropriate.
- Adhere to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements, and use personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and/or work practice controls as directed by management.
- Bachelor's Degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution.
- Four to six years of full-time experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory, with previous supervisory experience and experience in Flow Cytometry.
- Comprehensive theoretical and operational job knowledge in designated specialty, knowledge of organizational/departmental policies and procedures, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems.
