POSITION SUMMARY:
The Teacher Aide will support the execution of classroom activities for licensed childcare programs. This position necessitates direct leadership and requires availability during the morning hours of 6:30 - 9:00 AM or 3:30 - 6:00 PM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage in and assist with program activities
- Interact actively with children in the classroom
- Facilitate daily communication with parents
- Keep accurate records of attendance and schedules
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children
- Manage child behavior and suggest measures for improvement
- May perform opening and closing tasks for the program
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
Additional duties may be assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids.
COMPENSATION:
$16.27 per hour; Part-Time, Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be at least 17 years old and possess a minimum of two years of babysitting or childcare experience. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds and ages, with a genuine interest in caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- CPR Certification (to be obtained within the first 60 days)
- First Aid Certification (to be obtained within the first 60 days)
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
