About the Role

The School Nursing Program at Corewell Health provides healthcare access to over 90,000 students across 31 school districts in the State of Michigan.

Nurses in this program provide onsite care, rounding, and triage services, with the objective of providing healthcare resources to schools by partnering with districts to meet their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage acute illness, injury, and chronic health conditions for students by partnering with districts to fit their needs.
  • Provide nursing care responsibly and accountably, adhering to professional standards described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the National Association of School Nurses (NASN).
  • Demonstrate competency through critical thinking, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Uphold standards of professional performance, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, and research.
  • Strive to achieve optimal outcomes for students and families in the communities served.

Qualifications
  • Associates in Nursing Required.
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days.
  • Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS INSTR) - AHA Required 1 year.
