POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant II is responsible for executing professional accounting functions related to accounts receivable. This includes managing deposits, collecting cash and checks, overseeing incoming and outgoing payments from contractual commitments and donors, along with other associated responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Contributing to the Accounts Receivable Team within the Accounting Department, handling receivables, billing, collections, and ledger entries as required.
  2. Generating invoices as needed, along with monthly journal entries and reports from the billing system for month-end closing activities.
  3. Reconciling receivable balances between billing and accounting systems, rectifying any incorrect payments between involved parties.
  4. Ensuring prompt and accurate payments to foster parents or subcontractors.
  5. Maintaining strong customer relationships.
  6. Collecting daily deposits through remote capture or alternative methods.
  7. Preparing deposit entries for month-end and year-end closing processes.
  8. Conducting monthly account reconciliations for receivables and aging reports.
  9. Compiling and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports as necessary.
  10. Assisting with year-end audits, single audits, and fund audits.
  11. *Performing additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  1. CERTIFICATIONS
  • No specific certifications required.
  1. EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Not-for-profit accounting is preferred.
