Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for soliciting mortgage business, selling Gulf Winds' mortgage products, and providing exceptional service to our members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers to analyze financial and credit data, determine member financing objectives, and advise members of product/pricing policies and guidelines.
  2. Proactively solicit new mortgage loan applications by developing relationships within the community, specifically with the real estate community, and making outside sales calls to prospective members.
  3. Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies, and adhering to HMDA requirements.
  4. Meet mortgage loan operational standards by contributing mortgage loan information to strategic plans and reviews, implementing production, productivity, quality, and member-service standards, and resolving problems.
  5. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  6. Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Physical Security.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Must pass requirements for registration with NMLS.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Teamwork and customer service skills a must.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS applications and previous experience utilizing laptop technology for communication purposes, including accessing rate, credit, and loan status information.
  • Solid time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, a target commission opportunity of $126,000 based on $3 million in Mortgage Loan Production, and a comprehensive benefits package.
