Overview:
The responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive and may be adjusted as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees daily operations and participates in formal performance evaluations.
- Keeps accurate work records and provides training to custodial staff on cleaning equipment.
- Assists in scheduling for the custodial team in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Conducts inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and identify safety concerns.
- Coordinates the repair of hazardous conditions within City buildings.
- Operates various cleaning machinery including floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums.
- Facilitates the communication of policies and procedures to team members.
- Performs essential cleaning tasks to maintain the condition of City facilities, such as floor care, mopping, and furniture polishing.
- Disinfects and sanitizes frequently touched surfaces.
- Manages waste disposal and maintains cleanliness in all areas.
- Dusts and cleans air vents throughout the facilities.
- Washes glass surfaces, including windows and desks.
- Maintains tile surfaces through stripping, sealing, and waxing.
- Ensures proper upkeep of custodial equipment and reports any issues to the supervisor.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and locker rooms, replenishing supplies as necessary.
- Assists in setting up City facilities for meetings, including beverage preparation and room arrangement.
- Ensures building security by conducting nightly inspections of doors and reporting any maintenance needs.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Responds to various requests, such as moving furniture or changing light bulbs.
- Clears snow and applies ice-melt on walkways.
- Maintains documented inventory records.
- Assists in updating Safety Data Sheets.
- Performs other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in custodial maintenance with at least 1 year in a leadership role; supervisory experience preferred.
Certifications: None required.
Driver's License: Valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of custodial maintenance and floor care techniques.
- Familiarity with chemical usage and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Basic maintenance knowledge.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily conducted indoors within City facilities, with occasional outdoor tasks. Exposure to various conditions, including chemicals and mechanical parts, is expected.
Salary Range: $16.80 to $25.20
