Job Overview

The Development Director Lead will play a pivotal role in driving resource development strategies and activities at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay Inc.

This position requires a systematic approach to managing donor relationships, developing written proposals, and providing follow-up after meetings and events.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for furthering the Club's mission, excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, and community groups.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects through personal visits and outreach.
  • Develop written proposals, letters, and other communications for individuals and corporations.
  • Provide consistent follow-up after meetings, events, and other activities to secure commitments or move relationships forward.
  • Participate in a stewardship program in collaboration with the resource development team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' work experience in non-profit agency operations, specifically in the fund-raising field, sales/marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of fund-raising techniques, sources of funding for nonprofit agencies and organizations, and youth development services.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate fund-raising operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, and community groups.

Work Environment

The Development Director Lead will work in a moderate-to-high noise level environment, with flexibility to adjust schedules as needed.

This position requires travel to multiple Club facilities throughout surrounding counties for training and/or business purposes.
