About the Role

The Maintenance Manager position is a critical role within Mapei's manufacturing facilities, playing a vital part in ensuring an efficient and safe production process.

The Maintenance Team's primary objective is to maintain a well-organized and efficient manufacturing process. The team is responsible for routine maintenance procedures and troubleshooting complex issues that may arise with equipment in the manufacturing process and the facility.

The Maintenance Manager will oversee all aspects of the function, driving daily operations and supporting the team in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Daily Operations: Manage maintenance resources effectively to support daily plant operations.
  • Lead and Manage the Team: Direct and indirect personnel will be led and managed by the Maintenance Manager to achieve daily and weekly maintenance plans and annual goals, objectives, and projects.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Schedules: Align maintenance schedules with production schedules, and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production requirements, ensuring all planned work is completed on schedule in the most efficient manner.
  • Manage Operational and Capital Budgets: Build, monitor, and manage operational and capital budgets in support of the plant manager.
  • Monitor and Analyze Maintenance KPIs: Effectively monitor and analyze maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the maintenance function.
  • Communicate with Management: Communicate significant events and critical issues to management as appropriate.
  • Prepare Reporting: Prepare various levels of reporting and summarize significant events, corrective actions, and results.
  • Enforce Safety Policies: Actively enforce all safety policies and procedures with direct and non-direct reports and contractors.
  • Maintain Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as required.

Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a department supervisor in a high-volume/large-scale manufacturing environment with excellent knowledge in extensive process manufacturing equipment and phases of manufacturing.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant degree program, ideally Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Expert Knowledge: Expert knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E standards and regulations in daily electrical tasks.
  • Statistical Process Control: Understands various SPC tools (Control charts, Standard deviation, Cpk, etc.) and has the ability to use them for analysis and trend identification.
  • Mechanical Skills: Interpretation of pneumatic system schematics, troubleshooting of pneumatic systems, V-belt tensioning, valves and valve replacements, motors and drive systems, contactors, starters, relays, switches, power supplies, and transformers, and electrical enclosures and wiring devices.
  • Electrical Skills: Interpretation of electrical and controls circuitry schematics, Interpretation of PLC schematics, Electrical standards, Use of electrical equipment, Troubleshooting, Safety precautions.
  • PLC Knowledge: Working knowledge of PLC hardware and Ladder Logic programming.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient and comfortable with computers and demonstrate proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. independently; and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
