Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Support Specialist to join our Commercial Division team at Tarkett. As an Electrical Support Specialist, you will provide electrical support to the Extrusion Department, working in conjunction with maintenance, production, and engineering departments to troubleshoot equipment, install electrical devices, and improve manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting of equipment and processes using electrical theory, meters, equipment manuals, and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot motors, controllers, and advanced motor controls, including VFDs, technical sensors, lasers, and situation monitors.
  • Assist maintenance staff in operational debugging of machine controllers, motors, motor controls, sensors, and related components.
  • Communicate with project teams to ensure project awareness and collaborate with controls engineers and technicians to ensure accurate schematics and backup programs.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Electrical schooling or training and 3 years of electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to use power tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to run conduit and pull wire.
  • Ability to size starters, breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC drives.
  • Basic knowledge of PLCs.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck, scissor lift, and other motorized equipment.
  • Training in and accountability for lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
  • Ability to bend, climb, stretch, lift, and kneel.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Self-starter and team player with ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to initiate and install suggestions for upgrading electrical components and improving manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and understand basic wiring schematics and calculate electrical loads.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime on a regular basis.
