Position Overview:
The Trust Advisor ("TA") is a seasoned fiduciary expert who collaborates with Wealth Management and Banking professionals to provide exceptional guidance and service to individuals, families, and institutions.
They oversee fiduciary administration and strategic planning, managing relationships and enhancing a portfolio of High Net Worth clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages a portfolio of fiduciary and investment accounts in accordance with governing documents, including trusts, estates, court appointments, IRAs, investment management, and custody accounts, while conducting thorough reviews of account activities and administration.
Collaborates with Private Wealth Advisors, Portfolio Managers, and other bank professionals to convey the Firm's fiduciary philosophy and provide tailored fiduciary advice and solutions that align with client goals.
Offers fiduciary and financial planning support in areas such as estate planning, wealth transfer, estate administration, and charitable giving, as well as risk management solutions.
Engages with clients to nurture relationships, deliver advice and planning, identify challenges and new business prospects; responds to client inquiries, conducts proactive outreach, and develops fiduciary content for presentations and thought leadership initiatives.
Acts as the fiduciary authority within client teams to expand business through strengthening existing relationships and acquiring new clients.
Ensures compliance with client-focused policies and procedures, including conducting annual reviews, advising on client objectives, and maintaining updated wealth planning and client information for fiduciary relationships.
Identifies clients at risk, proactively addresses issues, and meets with these clients as necessary to enhance retention.
Responsible for understanding and adhering to operational controls, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with banking regulations and laws.
Performs additional duties as assigned that are reasonably within the scope of this job classification.
Qualifications:
Comprehensive technical knowledge of estate, trust, and fiduciary administration, along with wealth and estate planning strategies, particularly for affluent and high net worth clients.
Proficient in reviewing estate, trust, and legal documents to fulfill client objectives, manage fiduciary accounts, and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn job-specific software applications.
Strong business development capabilities with a focus on cultivating long-term relationships and expanding market reach.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information compellingly.
Skilled in adopting technological advancements and integrating them into current and future responsibilities.
Ability to adapt to change with minimal resistance and stay informed about legal and regulatory developments.
Capacity to positively influence others and gain their support.
Ability to anticipate and meet the needs of clients, addressing inquiries and concerns appropriately.
A commitment to achieving excellence in all aspects of work.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Trust Administration, Law, or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in trust administration and estate planning.
Demonstrated experience in business development and relationship management is preferred.
Relevant certifications such as CTFA, CFP, AEP, JD, or CPA are advantageous.
