Position Overview

As a Senior Manager within our State & Local Tax (SALT) division, you will lead and execute tax initiatives, delivering innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to a diverse clientele, from Fortune 500 corporations to emerging startups.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in business development efforts (e.g., preparing proposals, presenting in webinars);
  • Collaborate with Federal Tax Compliance Teams to ensure a holistic multi-jurisdictional tax strategy;
  • Review state and local income tax filings;
  • Provide support for tax controversy audits;
  • Lead consulting projects and identify solutions for clients;
  • Conduct research to stay updated with legislative changes;
  • Review memoranda and other client deliverables;
  • Prepare and assess Nexus Studies;
  • Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate junior staff, including Seniors, Associates, and Interns.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in an accounting firm, with a minimum of 5 years focused on Income Tax.
  • Bachelor's and/or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Possession of an advanced credential permitting client representation before the Internal Revenue Service (e.g., CPA or JD);
  • Self-motivated with the initiative to pursue opportunities and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;
  • Proficient in the use of technology.
