About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our Information Assurance team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of secure engineering and operations infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Test and Evaluation Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive security test and evaluation plans to ensure compliance with U.S. Government requirements.
  • Certification and Accreditation Support: Provide expert support in the development of security and contingency plans, and conduct complex risk and vulnerability assessments.
  • Policy and Procedure Analysis: Analyze policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations, and provide recommendations for closing gaps.
  • System Enhancements: Recommend system enhancements to improve security deficiencies, and develop, test, and integrate computer and network security tools.
  • System Configuration and Security Tool Installation: Secure system configurations and install security tools, scan systems to determine compliance, and report results.
  • Security Program Audits: Conduct security program audits and develop solutions to lessen identified risks.
  • Information Assurance Support: Provide information assurance support for the development and implementation of security architectures to meet new and evolving security requirements.
  • Incident Investigations: Assist in computer incident investigations and perform vulnerability assessments, including development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assessment and Authorization: Prepare Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documents and procedures, and interface with other IA team members, security disciplines, program personnel, and Government security representatives.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience in information assurance, with a track record of progressively responsible experience in ICD 503 certification and accreditation.
  • Clearance and Certification: TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly, with a minimum IAT Level III certification.
  • Technical and Security Training: Must maintain required technical and security training relative to cybersecurity duties, in accordance with DoD instruction, Risk Management Framework for DoD Systems, NIST Special Publication 800-53, and DoD Directive M.
  • System-Specific Certifications: ISSE/ISSO must have certifications and/or comprehensive hands-on technical experience in the technology area(s) of their assigned system(s) in order to effectively carry out their duties.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarization with NIST Special Publication Revision 1, Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems, Committee on National Security Systems Instructions (CNSSI) 1253, and NIST SP Revisions 3 and 4, SP800-39, SP 800-30.
