Long Range Planner

Join the Town of Windsor as a Long Range Planner and play a vital role in shaping the town's future by developing and implementing long-range planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Planning Director in identifying long-range planning issues and developing work program priorities.
- Undertake long-range planning projects, including subarea plans, corridor plans, and Comprehensive Plan updates.
- Coordinate and review work assignments for long-range planning projects.
- Maintain a working understanding of new land use legislation, administrative rules, and case law.
- Bachelor's degree in urban and/or regional planning or a related field.
- Seven years of experience in land use planning for a local government, including experience in development review and long-range planning.
- Equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The physical requirements of this position are considered Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).
This position is not considered safety sensitive because the individual does not operate a commercial motor vehicle, as a regular function of his/her daily job duties.
