Position Overview:
As a Claims Consultant specializing in Complex Liability Solutions within the Hartford Global Specialty (HGS) Liability Major Case Unit, you will manage a diverse portfolio of claims related to bodily injury and non-bodily injury. This role involves navigating intricate coverage and liability challenges, ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate coverage and communicate determinations effectively to insured parties and relevant stakeholders.
- Set and monitor expense and indemnity reserves within established authority limits, making adjustments as necessary.
- Present complex cases to management for additional reserve authority when required.
- Devise and implement strategies for resolution to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Oversee litigation processes, including planning, budgeting, and review of legal bills.
- Conduct periodic claims reviews for insured clients as needed.
- Participate in trials and mediations when necessary.
- Contribute to organizational goals by engaging in audits, projects, and product development initiatives.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to senior leadership regarding case developments and industry trends.
- Collaborate with third-party administrators to manage time-sensitive demands and evaluate complex exposure issues.
- Work alongside underwriters to effectively convey the advantages of the CLS claims model to potential clients and brokers.
- Support the CLS business unit in analyzing and addressing claim trends for both prospective and existing clients.
- Act as a liaison between CLS and various internal departments, including billing, finance, and actuarial teams.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in handling General Liability litigated coverage and liability matters.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient in strategic thinking and task execution.
- Advanced negotiation skills and technical expertise in claims handling, particularly in coverage and tort laws.
- Thorough understanding of high-value bodily injury claims.
- Ability to clearly articulate complex issues and influence stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
- Commitment to exceeding expectations and inspiring others to do the same.
- Travel may be required up to 10%.
- This position offers a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement, with expectations for in-office work based on proximity to office locations.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $101,200 - $151,800, influenced by market analysis and individual performance metrics. The compensation package may also include bonuses and other incentives.
