Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team at Brick Staffing, LLC. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for electrical projects, working closely with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate pricing and timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive estimates for electrical projects, including conceptual, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Identify and fill scope gaps per product/project requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the estimating cost database, tracking past productivity rates, and historical pricing for subcontractors.
  • Assemble bid tabs with estimates, vendor quotes, and subcontractor quotes.
  • Populate bid forms, pricing breakouts, and optional pricing per product/project requirements.
  • Consult with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, cost reduction options, and resolve issues.
  • Clarify scope with customers, architects, and engineers, and prepare proposal RFI's.
  • Study specifications to assist the production team in planning procedures for construction, based on starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
  • Research construction documents and analyze specifications to determine estimated costs.
  • Work with the production team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for constructability issues and determining general requirements on the project.
  • Create, maintain, and manage the preconstruction/design schedule for projects.
  • Manage the subcontractor prequalification process and ensure that awarded subcontractors have the proper experience and financial capabilities to perform on the project.
  • Review design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, and generate value engineering ideas.
  • For self-performed scopes, prepare quantity take-offs and estimated costs of materials, labor, and specialty equipment per project requirements.
  • Assure that self-performed estimates comply with the requirements of the project.
  • Understand how to create proper bid packages and work with the design team on the information required in each package to assure complete bids and provide the production team with the right information needed to start production or maintain the project schedule.
  • Manage the subcontractor/vendor solicitation process, ensuring that team members are part of the approval process for all bid lists.
  • Supervise and/or write the specific and general instructions to bidders and required bid forms.
  • Review subcontractor/supplier bids for conformity to contract requirements and determine acceptable bids.
  • Write project scope letter, project narrative, and develop project proposal as required.
  • Present and explain project budgets to customers, designers, and production teams.
  • Work with the Chief Estimator in the creation of all final estimates to be given to the production and accounting team for creation of the project budgets.
  • After project award, conduct a turnover meeting to product managers, project managers, and production teams.
Requirements
  • Minimum of ten (10) years commercial construction experience with a minimum of four (4) years of estimating experience.
  • B.S. degree in Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
  • Data center experience a big plus.
  • Independent sales strengths for presentations and projects pursuits.
  • History of successfully working internally with teams and externally with customers, architects/engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Independent decision making.
  • Initiates and maintains relationships with team and employees.
  • Makes authoritative decisions and recommendations having important impact on activities of the company.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment.
  • Determines program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guidelines for diverse activities.
