Job Summary

This position involves assembling generator sets and sub-assemblies, including standard and non-standard product lines. The successful candidate will utilize hand and power tools, adhering to quality and procedural techniques. Additionally, they will contribute to process improvements, enhance line efficiency, and address various areas of the assembly line, as directed by the Line Lead or supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Utilize work instructions, drawings, schematics, and equipment to perform assembly duties of medium complexity across multiple work areas.
  2. Cross-train in various assembly areas and assist in other areas as needed.
  3. Support the training of new employees in new work areas, focusing on work instructions and standard work.
  4. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the products assembled, as well as continuous learning of job principles, practices, and processes.
  5. Propose and implement improvements to existing equipment, designs, and processes to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  6. Contribute to process improvements, lead times, and throughput.
  7. Identify and address obvious defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship, and general quality issues.
  8. Adhere to safety and environmental procedures, established processes, and company policies.
  9. Resolve problems with assistance from supervisors, depending on the level and complexity.
  10. Provide input on continuous improvement opportunities within the department.
  11. Promote a compliance culture in the area of responsibility and embody the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  12. Perform special projects as required.
Work Environment

This role is performed in a durable goods manufacturing environment. The employee is frequently required to walk and occasionally to stand, sit, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, parts, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, or talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Equipment

The employee will utilize a computer and various tooling.

Qualifications
  1. 2 years of assembly experience with heavy-duty equipment or 2 years of applicable mechanical experience.
  2. Ability to meet Assembly 1 competency assessment.
  3. Good ability to access information needed with SAP system.
  4. Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  5. Good ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  6. Good ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  7. Good ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Demonstrates proficiency in both oral and written communication as well as communicate in a team environment.
  9. Quality and detail orientation and good organizational skills.
  10. Good ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  11. Good ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
  12. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system.
  3. Large equipment industrial experience.
  4. Good mechanical skills.
