Role Summary:
We are seeking a Racial Equity Policy Manager who will report directly to the Executive Director for Equity Strategic Planning and Programming. This role is pivotal in leading the agency-wide implementation of Racial Equity Impact Assessments (REIA) across policies, programs, and legislative actions. The successful candidate will also provide expert consultation to partner agencies that are pursuing similar equity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a comprehensive project plan for the implementation of Racial Equity Impact Assessments throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with Division Equity Liaisons and Department Leadership to provide training and technical assistance on REIA methodologies.
  • Establish governance frameworks and develop tools to assess the racial and social equity impacts of proposed policies and programs.
  • Oversee the measurement system for REIA, ensuring alignment with the organization's Theory of Change.
  • Lead the creation of measurement tools and surveys to identify and address racial inequities within public health initiatives.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of racial equity best practices among staff and community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in sociology, public administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in community or social justice program administration.
  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders and manage projects effectively.
  • Strong commitment to anti-racism and social equity principles.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with the complexities of diversity and inclusion across various dimensions.
  • Knowledge of the historical and social factors influencing racial equity.
  • Capacity to develop innovative strategies and evaluate policies for unintended biases.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation.
  • Understanding of public health sector operations and policies.
  • Willingness to grow professionally and adapt to new challenges.
