Job Summary

The Equipment Superintendent is a key role within Zachry Construction Corporation, responsible for the onsite management of our equipment fleet. This position requires a strong leader who can ensure a safe work environment, maintain equipment in good working condition, and manage costs effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety: Ensure a safe work environment for all employees, following all policies, procedures, and regulations related to safety.
  • Quality: Ensure all maintenance and repairs are completed in a quality manner, following up and verifying the work.
  • Cost Control: Maintain equipment in good safe working condition at the lowest cost possible, using good judgment when purchasing parts and services.
  • Backlog Management: Maintain the accuracy of the maintenance backlog, ensuring completeness and accuracy of maintenance and repair work required.
  • Lubrication/Oil Analysis: Maintain accurate lubrication schedules, fuel records, and hour meter records, ensuring proper oil sampling and timely shipment to the lab.
  • Planning/Scheduling: Attend and participate in daily/weekly job site scheduling meetings, scheduling PMs and repairs for the least impact on the job schedule.
  • Training: Train subordinates in safe, efficient, and quality methods of completing duties, ensuring maintenance staff has the proper training to comply with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure all maintenance records are properly documented within the Equipment module in the SAP Database, ensuring accuracy of fuel, oil, and environmental records.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience related to maintaining heavy equipment.
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Computer skills and software knowledge.
  • Ability to manage people.
