Position Summary
The Equipment Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing the management of our equipment fleet on-site. This leadership position requires a strong ethical foundation in all business dealings, whether with vendors, manufacturers, or team members. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, ready to adapt to various work schedules, including nights and weekends when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Management
Ensure a secure working environment for all personnel by adhering to safety policies and regulations. Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain an uncompromising attitude towards safety. - Quality Assurance
Oversee maintenance and repair work to ensure it meets high-quality standards. Follow up on tasks to verify completion and quality. - Cost Management
Maintain equipment in optimal working condition while managing costs effectively. Make judicious purchasing decisions and oversee vendor relationships. - Backlog Oversight
Ensure accurate maintenance backlog records that reflect the actual condition of equipment and necessary repairs. - Lubrication and Oil Analysis
Maintain a precise lubrication schedule and monitor fuel and hour meter records, ensuring timely oil sampling and analysis. - Planning and Scheduling
Participate in scheduling meetings to align maintenance tasks with project timelines, minimizing disruptions to operations. - Training and Development
Provide training to staff on safe and efficient work practices, ensuring compliance with company policies. - Record Keeping
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities within the equipment management system.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance, with strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant software and the ability to manage personnel effectively are essential.
