Role Overview

The position of Loss Prevention Supervisor offers valuable experiences that contribute to skill development and career advancement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering a culture of safety and security, including crisis management and crowd control, while providing support to guests and team members.
  • Executing daily and weekly AP priorities to align with business objectives and achieve targets.
  • Addressing incidents of external theft and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborating with leadership to devise strategic solutions for theft and fraud, adhering to company policies.
  • Partnering with store leaders to educate and support operational priorities related to shortages.
  • Leading a team of hourly employees, focusing on recruitment, development, evaluation, and retention of talent.

Typical Responsibilities

As a Loss Prevention Supervisor, your daily tasks may include:

  • Enhancing store sales and profitability by ensuring product availability for guests.
  • Validating and influencing security and safety protocols; participating in emergency response situations and planning for in-store events.
  • Assisting in training teams on emergency preparedness and security procedures.
  • Coaching and developing team members to enhance their skills and expertise.
  • Anticipating staffing needs and supporting effective talent planning.
  • Identifying theft and shortage trends within the store.
  • Recognizing shortage risks in key areas and collaborating with leadership to implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Working a flexible schedule that meets guest and business needs, including early morning, overnight, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Managing schedules based on security and theft patterns.
  • Overseeing the prevention and resolution of external theft incidents.
  • Supporting internal investigations led by AP leadership.
  • Training team members on merchandise protection and audit processes.
  • Implementing operational changes as directed by leadership.
  • Communicating AP priorities effectively to the team and leadership.
  • Building trust and accountability with leadership and store management.
  • Promoting a culture of safety by recognizing safe practices and addressing hazards.

  • Leading onboarding and training initiatives to close knowledge gaps.
  • Ensuring team members meet performance expectations.
  • Maintaining all required training certifications.
  • Acting as a first responder for in-store incidents.
