Job Summary

As a Night Press Lead at WORZALLA INC, you will be responsible for leading the press operations and crew to ensure safe, quality, and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in achieving, maintaining, and monitoring quality of signatures throughout the press run, including ink and water balance, color consistency, registration, web alignment, and set margins.
  • Provide effective crew leadership, serving as a positive role model in safety, work ethic, and morale, and rotating crew members to provide breaks and reduce fatigue.
  • Work with crew and supervisors to establish and review maintenance tasks, assign duties, and ensure proper ordered counts are achieved.
  • Determine first save copies, pull hourly pulls and samples, and pre-plan and execute make-readies in a timely and effective manner.
  • Perform and/or assign preventative maintenance duties, maintain inking systems, and keep track of tools assigned to the press.
  • Responsible for checking jobs for accuracy, cleaning, and general housekeeping in the department, observing and correcting safety hazards, and investigating and reporting accidents.
  • Communicate and provide feedback for internal and external customers, attend and participate in required meetings, and train to next level to provide back-up supervisory coverage.
  • Continually identify, develop, and implement improvements in work processes and consistently serve as a positive role model by living Sheridan's core values.

Requirements:

  • Previous press experience required.
  • Ability to actively participate in production-related activities, follow direction, and perform repetitive tasks for an extended period.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Type II Forklift certification, knowledge of arithmetic, and understanding of work instructions, processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to consistently and effectively complete work and required paperwork thoroughly, accurately, and neatly, and demonstrate initiative and creativity, teamwork and cooperation, and adhere to and comply with all company and environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and work rules.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance required.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.
