Position Overview:

Toole Design Group is seeking a skilled and experienced full-time Principal Civil Engineer. This role is ideal for individuals with a robust background in civil engineering, particularly in sustainable multimodal transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will oversee a variety of projects that enhance the natural environment, including intricate roadways and urban streetscapes, as well as notable trail initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and directing projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team of planners, landscape architects, urban designers, and engineers.
  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders to develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents.
  • Participating in business development efforts and contributing to the firm's quality assurance initiatives.
Work Environment:

This full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule, with flexibility to work from home several days a week. The office environment promotes collaboration and creativity, situated conveniently for access to regional transportation networks.

Compensation and Benefits:

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Professional Engineering license in Maryland (additional Mid-Atlantic states are advantageous).

  • Strong expertise in roadway design, drainage design, and accessible public space design.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation, and experience with Civil 3D, GEOPAK, or InRoads.
