Role Summary:

40% - Yard Management: This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the yard. The Yard Operations Manager will guide yard technicians in their scheduled tasks and projects, ensuring timely repairs, preparation, and delivery of units in line with Satellite's quality standards.

60% - Unit Maintenance: This role is responsible for the upkeep of the fleet, monitoring units, and executing necessary repairs and modifications. The Yard Operations Manager will inspect all units before and after they are dispatched.

Key Responsibilities:

Yard Management:

  • Oversee and coordinate the fleet maintenance and repair schedule.
  • Assign tasks to yard personnel for cleaning, repairs, deliveries, and other essential projects.
  • Procure parts and supplies to maintain inventory levels.
  • Manage inventory in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure cleaning, repair, and refurbishment standards are upheld.
  • Foster positive relationships with all employees to promote a collaborative work environment.
  • Enhance employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness.
  • Lead training for yard personnel and drivers on safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Unit Maintenance:

  • Execute all responsibilities efficiently, adhering to company policies to meet position objectives.
  • Prepare units for rental in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct repairs and modifications as necessary.
  • Maintain proper storage practices for units.
  • Inspect all units, both incoming and outgoing.
  • Document unit conditions thoroughly.
  • Capture necessary photographs of units.
  • Engage with customers at job sites.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Supervisory Duties:

Under the guidance of the Branch Manager and/or Operations Manager, this position will lead yard personnel in daily branch activities.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience in construction, commercial cleaning, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience in team leadership and project management.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Attention to detail.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in various climate conditions.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels.
  • Proficient in operating hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work in environments with dirt and dust.
  • Comfortable working around heavy machinery.
  • Ability to handle air impact tools weighing up to 30 pounds.
