Environmental Technician II/III

Boulder Scientific Company is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Technician II/III to join our team. As a key member of our environmental department, you will be responsible for handling hazardous waste and ensuring all operations comply with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Transfer waste water, waste solvents, and other wastes between tanks, drums, and shipping containers using pumps, pressure, and other equipment.
- Label hazardous waste containers as appropriate to maintain compliance with labeling regulations and times.
- Learn and know plant processes sufficiently to effectively characterize and manage process wastes.
- Maintain the hazardous waste accumulation area(s) in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform yard and building cleanup as needed.
- Perform shipping and receiving activities as needed.
- Assist Manager, Environmental in record keeping and hazardous waste management.
- Assist in preparation of required reports for EPA and CDPHE.
- Use company databases to create and maintain waste records and documents.
- Perform inspections as required by BSC and regulations to maintain compliance.
- Assist with or perform sampling to facilitate regulatory compliance and knowledge of materials.
- Attend classes as designated by Environmental Department to facilitate above knowledge and to maintain required updates.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- At least six months of Chemical Operator related experience and/or training.
- Experience with proper handling of hazardous materials/waste.
- Experience keeping computerized records and databases updated per company or legal requirements.
- Basic computer experience (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience working within the regulatory requirements of RCRA and DOT or other regulated environment.
- Forklift experience a plus (Certification preferred).
The job requires work outside in all weather for short periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will be working in areas that may require the use of PPE.
