Position Summary

The selected RN will engage in high-risk population studies, particularly in Pediatrics and Neonatology, involving investigational drug trials and the administration of IV medications.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Recruiting and screening new study participants, managing study documentation, and assisting with regulatory compliance.
  2. Data entry into electronic data capture systems and maintaining accurate records in institutional databases.
  3. Acting as patient advocates, coordinating care, scheduling follow-ups, and conducting necessary laboratory tests as per study protocols.
  4. Overseeing the collection, processing, and storage of specimens, while monitoring for adverse events and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Preparing for audits and responding to inquiries from regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution and active RN licensure in Georgia, with a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Preferred:

  • Completion of the CITI Program for FDA regulated research.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience in pediatric nursing and clinical research.

Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with clinical research practices, IRB regulations, and medical terminology are essential.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.

Flexibility in work hours, including potential early mornings, evenings, and weekends, is required.
