Position Overview

The role involves delivering both direct and indirect therapeutic services to clients and their families through various modalities, including individual, group, and family therapy. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations, assessing risks, and collaborating on treatment planning with a multidisciplinary team. The candidate will engage in clinical supervision and peer review processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical and therapeutic services to clients and families utilizing a wide array of established therapeutic practices, including biopsychosocial evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and aftercare support.
  • Contribute to the design, execution, and enhancement of therapeutic programs, focusing on quality improvement, patient satisfaction, compliance with regulations, and adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Create personalized treatment plans with specific, measurable goals that address the client's unique challenges. Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Oversee case management duties related to patient care, which encompass Utilization Review, Discharge Planning, Family Engagement/Education, and timely documentation as required.
  • Act as a team leader and provide guidance to staff members. Supervise graduate students in their fieldwork as an instructor or site supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not involve management duties and will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field in human services.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in providing direct counseling services within a behavioral health environment (preferably in a hospital or community agency).

Licensure Requirements

Must hold a current license as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) as recognized by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners or the Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors.

Alternative Qualifications

Team members in this role prior to a specified date may be exempt from the above educational and experience requirements, provided they are eligible for certification and complete it within one year.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in group, individual, and family therapy techniques, with strong assessment and treatment planning capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various professional disciplines.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical record systems.
