Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Inspector is tasked with the evaluation of incoming and in-process precision machined components and assemblies to ensure they meet established specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts inspections on incoming and in-process precision and complex machined components, completing necessary documentation such as inspection reports and database entries.
  • Employs standard mechanical measuring instruments including Micrometers, Calipers, Height gauges, Indicators, CMM, Micro Hite Height gauge, Micro-tek Vision System, and Optical Comparator.
  • Assists in the upkeep of the tool calibration system.
  • Determines product acceptance by interpreting engineering drawings, production prints, and written instructions, while discussing any discrepancies with the Quality Control Supervisor.
  • Utilizes various measurement tools and maintains accurate records in computer databases.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A minimum of 3 years of inspection experience within a manufacturing setting.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient manual dexterity.
  • Basic electromechanical skills.
  • Effective verbal communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection guidelines.
  • Experienced in the use of standard mechanical measuring tools (i.e., Micrometers, Calipers, Height gauges). Familiarity with CMM, Micro Hite Height gauge, and Optical Comparator is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under direct supervision and adhere to written instructions and procedures.
  • Strong basic mathematical skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Light physical effort is necessary, with continuous mental and visual focus.
  • Position may require both sitting and standing.
  • Good eyesight, correctable to 20/20 vision is essential.
