Respiratory Therapist Travel II

The Respiratory Care Practitioner has the responsibility, accountability, and authority to deliver safe, effective, quality respiratory care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives, policies, procedures, guidelines, and objectives of Respiratory Care Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides care that is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in the principles of Relationship Based Care.
Explains the respiratory treatment to the patient and family and educates them on how to care for the respiratory needs of the patient.
Demonstrates a current working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the respiratory care treatments and modalities through observation of the patient's physical condition and behavior, signs and symptoms of illness, and reactions to treatment, and modifies the plan as needed.
Acts as the patient advocate as circumstances require by initiating action to improve healthcare or to change decisions or activities that are against the wishes of the patient by giving the patient the opportunity to make informed decisions about healthcare before it is provided.
Provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
Acts as a liaison in coordinating patient care activities with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals.
Utilizes effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills to facilitate safe patient hand-offs.
Documents patient care per hospital policies.
Utilizes manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and effect productivity.
Requirements:
Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License by the state of California.
CRT required. RRT required.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 months post-graduate acute care.
Pediatric/neonatal experience preferred.
