Program Support: Throughout your residency, you will collaborate with our Success Coach team, comprised of committed nursing professional development specialists, who will help you build upon your existing experiences.

They will be readily available to assist you — whether in person, virtually, or via email — to address any inquiries and support your growth as a caregiver.

Unit Description: Marymount Hospital's 3 South/4 South Medical-Surgical and Telemetry Unit provides care for a diverse patient population, ranging from adolescents to seniors, with a wide array of medical conditions.

Role of the Nurse Resident: As a Registered Nurse Resident, you will become an integral part of our community, experiencing one of the most inclusive and well-rounded training programs available.

You will work alongside experienced nurses who are eager to mentor and guide new graduates.

Personal Development: Individual assessments will be conducted to identify areas for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Establish and/or adjust priorities for patient care activities based on acuity, patient preferences, and resource availability.
  • Initiate and maintain interventions to ensure continuity of safe and effective patient care.
  • Respond to data indicating health risks and take action to correct, reduce, or prevent these risks.
  • Seek supervision and assistance when necessary to perform safely and independently.
  • Comply with established hospital and department personnel policies.
  • Document in patients' medical records according to established guidelines.

Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

If working in an Emergency Department, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire or within one year.

Registered nurses or advanced practice nurses in oncology settings must obtain cancer-specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the accreditation cycle.

Skills Required: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.

Personal Protective Equipment: Adhere to Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
