Unit Description:

Marymount Hospital's 3 East/3 West Complex Medical Care and Neurology unit is committed to delivering exceptional care to patients facing medical challenges such as strokes, seizures, heart failure, COPD, renal failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. As a Registered Nurse Resident, you will become an integral part of our team, participating in a comprehensive and inclusive training program alongside experienced nurses eager to mentor new graduates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a coach, adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Adjust priorities for patient care based on acuity, patient preferences, and resource availability.
  • Implement interventions to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Respond to health risks and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Seek guidance when necessary to ensure safe and independent practice.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Document patient care accurately in medical records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN preferred.

Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required for specific departments.

Work Environment:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to function in a high-stress environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Full range of body motion, including lifting and handling patients.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
