Join our dedicated team at Albany Medical Center, where we strive to deliver exceptional healthcare services to our community. We are currently seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider, specifically a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, to contribute to our EmUrgent Care unit.

Position Overview:

This role is designed for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently, both independently and collaboratively. This is a per diem position, allowing flexibility in scheduling with a minimum commitment of 18 hours monthly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and physical assessments.
  • Gather essential clinical information, including vital signs and laboratory specimens.
  • Conduct assessments in occupational medicine.
  • Ensure accurate patient coding and documentation.
  • Maintain thorough and precise medical records for all patients.
  • Act as the clinical lead for on-site medical staff.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid New York State license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current DEA certification is required.

Educational Background:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • NCCPA registration is mandatory.
  • State licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is essential.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in an Emergency Room or Urgent Care setting; critical care experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sound clinical judgment are essential.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in emergency situations.
  • Familiarity with scientific methodologies and national care standards for patient management.
  • Proficiency in computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems is necessary.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills is required.
  • Adherence to HIPAA regulations is mandatory.
